Trustees sought for the Granville Education Foundation
The Granville Education Foundation (GEF) is seeking three talented individuals who are committed to education to join its Board of Trustees.
GEF was founded in 1993 for the purpose of funding innovative educational projects that enhance and augment classroom instruction not covered by the school district’s financial resources. The GEF awarded its first grants in the Spring of 1997 and since has provided, through donations, more than $285,000 in funding to over 130 proposals submitted by teachers in Granville schools.
The GEF is composed of volunteer trustees who commit their time for a term of three years. Trustees are asked to contribute their talents in a variety of ways to ensure that the Board can continue to provide grants to variety of school projects and support scholarship. Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at the District office. Meetings are only held in June and July if deemed necessary by the executive members of the Board. Trustees are asked to serve on at least two GEF sub-committee: Finance, Grants, Marketing, Development, Events, and Scholarship which meet on an as-needed basis. Trustees are also involved in supporting fundraising efforts and hosting an annual Granville High School All-Alumni event during Granville’s Fourth of July festivities.
Applicants must live within the boundaries of the Granville Exempted Village School District. Anyone interested in serving on the GEF is encouraged to contact email@example.com to submit a cover letter and resume by April 18, 2018. Terms for new trustees will begin in August.
